PARIS — Broadband satellite hardware and service provider Viasat Inc.’s agreement with Microsoft’s Airband Initiative is a no-cash transaction in which each company will invest in providing broadband to specific projects in a select group of nations in Africa and the Americas.
Viasat will use its current capacity in those regions and the future Viasat-3 terabit-per-second satellites scheduled for launch in 2023 — early in the year for the satellite over the Americas, and later in the year for the second Viasat-3 over Europe . . .
