LA PLATA, Maryland — Space-launch rocket and missile-propulsion manufacturer Avio SpA said it expects to generate higher profit in its Vega-C rocket business by replacing Arianespace as the vehicle’s launch-service provider and launch operator.
The change in control was sought by Avio and the Italian government and approved by France, Germany and the 22-nation European Space Agency (ESA) in November.
