TUPPER LAKE, NY — The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) allowed startup satellite-to-smartphone constellation operator AST SpaceMobile to test its first five satellites for specific operations in V-, S- and UHF-band frequencies.
The S-band authorization is for satellite links only to Earth stations outside the United States.
