LA PLATA, Maryland — The US Commerce Dept.’s Office of Space Commerce (OSC) expects to have a beta version of its space traffic coordination system, TraCSS, on line by August at its TraCSS.org website after switching on an initial version for early commercial users last September, OSC Acting Director Janice Starzyk said.

By January, TraCSS is expected to start full operations and be able to accept all satellite operators that sign up to receive alerts about possible collisions of their satellites.
