PARIS — British small-launch-vehicle startup Orbex raised 20 million euros ($24 million) in a funding round and said it now has sufficient cash to get it through a mid-2022 inaugural flight from Scotland’s Sutherland spaceport.
Orbex’s vehicle, with a 3D-printed engine, is designed to carry 150 kilograms of payload into a 500-kilometer polar orbit. The company has received grants from the U.K. Space Agency, the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 research fund and the 22-nation European Space Agency . . .
