PARIS — The British government’s investment in OneWeb Global was was done for both strategic and commercial reasons but did not hinge on OneWeb’s becoming a future global navigation satellite system, Britain’s secretary of state for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) said.
But OneWeb may have a future role in offering “resilience” to the U.S. GPS and European Galileo positioning, navigation and timing networks, Alok Sharma said.
