U.S. government approves OneWeb sale to UK government, India’s Bharti; exit from Chapter 11 imminent

PARIS — OneWeb Global Ltd. will be exiting Chapter 11 bankruptcy within days now that the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the U.S. Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) have approved the satellite broadband company’s purchase by the British government, India’s Bharti Global and Hughes Network Systems.

The CFIUS approval came Oct. 23, as scheduled, following the interagency committee’s 45-day examination. The FCC approval was issued Oct. 27.
