LA PLATA, Maryland — SpaceX’s launch of the first Starlink satellites capable closing emergency-message links directly to unmodified smartphones using T-Mobile spectrum in the United States will take several years to expand into a service including voice and data, T-Mobile said.
The six direct-to-cell (D2C)-capable satellites launched Jan. 2 along with 14 other standard Starlink V2 Mini satellites aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will be used for testing the service in the United States as part of the T-Mobile . . .
