WASHINGTON — Swissto12 in 2022 and 2023 won contracts from Intelsat and Inmarsat, now owned by Viasat Inc., to build a total of four GEO-orbit satellites based on Swissto12’s HummingSat design of satellites weighing around 1,000 kilograms. They will be the company’s first GEO satellites.
Chief Executive Emile de Rijk said both programs on on schedule for deliveries in 2026, and that the market for small GEOs is even more promising than the company believed in 2022. Swissto12 reported backlog of more than 200 million euros . . .
