Startups Astranis and ReOrbit, veterans Maxar and Melco: Different business models, but a shared belief in the GEO market

BANGKOK — Satellite builders Astranis, Maxar Technologies, Mitsubishi Electric  Co. (Melco) and ReOrbit have concluded GEO orbit remains a dynamic market that is not being made obsolete by LEO satellite constellations.

The four companies view the market from starkly different perspectives and described their strategies Nov. 5 at the APSCC 2024 conference here.
