LA PLATA, Maryland — SpaceX Starlink defended its space safety and debris-mitigation practices and record and said it has successfully deorbited 99% of the satellites that have failed.
Addressing the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Baku, Azerbaijan, the company said coordination among constellation operators remains “a big safety concern” as some governments and companies refused to share precise data on their constellation with other operators.
