Space42 combines geospatial analytics and satellite telecom – an odd couple, but financial resources won’t be an issue

PARIS — The newly created UAE-based Space42, a merger of satellite fixed and mobile communications operator Yahsat and geospatial analytics provider Bayanat, is trying to put together very different businesses with the hope that one plus one makes three — or at least more than two.

Space42 Managing Director Karim Michel Sabbagh, a former chief executive of satellite fleet operator SES, conceded that this has never really been done before and will not be simple.
