LAMPOLDSHAUSEN, Germany — Startup small-launcher developer MaiaSpace, whose vehicle features a reusable first stage, will remain a 100%-owned subsidiary of ArianeGroup and will not seek outside funding for now, Chief Executive Yohann Leroy said.
France-based MaiaSpace is using the Prometheus engine, developed by ArianeGroup with funds from the European Space Agency (IESA) for future heavy-lift launchers, as its main stage and is still planning an inaugural flight from Europe’s Guiana Space Center spaceport in 2025, Leroy said.
