PARIS — Four men and three women have signaled interest in becoming the next director-general of the 22-nation European Space Agency (ESA), representing seven nations and a mix of outsider and insider attributes.
ESA’s selection committee does not have a fixed deadline for making its recommendation for who will succeed Jan Woerner, whose truncated term ends in June. But a decision is expected by the end of this year.
