MOUNTAIN VIEW, California — In a major victory for Intelsat, rival SES has agreed to a joint proposal to U.S. regulators to permit sharing C-band spectrum with terrestrial mobile network operators in selected areas of the United States.
The proposal, first made in October by Intelsat and Intel — http://bit.ly/2xNkx3G — now heads to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) with the endorsement of the two satellite companies that provide 80-90% of the C-band downlinks in U.S. territory.
