LA PLATA, Maryland — Satellite fleet operators SES and Hispasat said they remain willing to invest in the European Commission’s secure connectivity constellation but that the network would need to be operator-led and not become hostage to the manufacturing sector.
The comments, made Oct. 25 at the European Space Forum 2022 conference in Brussels, came as the European Commission nears completion of a formal legislative package valued at 2.4 billion euros ($2.4 billion) between 2023 and 2027.
