Satelite lasercom builder Mynaric reports production delay, but says it’s still in time for constellation wave

LUXEMBOURG — Satellite-, airborne- and ground-based laser communications terminal manufacturer Mynaric AG fell short of its financial targets in 2018, saying it had withheld its air terminal from commercial delivery to bring it to a higher technology readiness.

Deliveries are now scheduled this year, which the company said is early enough to be “the only company globally to offer mature and deployable laser communications products for airborne applications.”

Munich-based Mynaric, which is 2018 said it signed an MoU with an unnamed company planning a 300-satellite . . .
