PARIS — Rocket Lab might reasonably consider changing its name to Space Systems Lab on the heels of its $515-million contract with the U.S. Space Development Agency (SDA) to design, build and operate 18 Tranche two Transport Layer - Beta missile-defense satellites.
It’s Rocket Lab’s first big win as a prime contractor and goes a long way to moving the company up the food chain to compete with the big U.S. satellite prime contractors.
