Positioning industry in expected growth niches, Spain contracts Sener to build a quantum key distribution satellite for LEO

PARIS — Spanish engineering services provider Sener will build a small quantum-key-distribution satellite to under a 20-month contract valued at 18 million euros ($20 million) with Spain’s Centre for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI), part of Spain’s Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

The contract follows a Sener-led Phase 1 technology evaluation. CDTI is using funds from Spain’s PERTE Aerospace
