PARIS — Galileo prime contractor OHB SE on May 31 sent two Galileo positioning, navigation and timing satellites to Europe’s spaceport for a July launch aboard an Ariane 5 rocket with two identical Galileo spacecraft already there.
The departure of these two 750-kilogram satellites marked the end of the production of OHB’s Batch 2 Galileo order. The company is also under contract to the European Commission for 12 Batch-3 Galileo spacecraft.
