PARIS — Norway’s Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace is purchasing AST SpaceMobile-owned smallsat builder NanoAvionics of Lithuania in a transaction that makes it more likely the Norwegian government will expand its three-satellite maritime signals-intelligence capacity into a much larger constellation.
Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace’s acquisition is valued at 65 million euros ($67.8 million), or 5.9 times NanoAvionics’ 2021 revenue of $12.6 million, according to AST SpaceMobile filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
