Northrop’s SpaceLogistics: Here’s what’s next after successful Intelsat life-extension mission

WASHINGTON -- After a successful in-orbit trial of its new robotic satellite-servicing spacecraft last month, SpaceLogistics LLC is preparing to launch a follow-on Mission Extension Vehicle (MEV) that will carry out a second rendezvous and docking mission in GEO before year’s end.

The groundbreaking  mission, which saw the MEV-1 satellite grapple with and attach itself to Intelsat's IS-901 satellite some 300 kilometers above the geostationary belt, marked the first docking of two private spacecraft in orbit. Since the successful Feb. 25 . . .
