TUPPER LAKE, NY — A European Commission Tender Evaluation Committee is expected to decide this month whether to accept the final offer submitted July 1 from the industrial consortium bidding for the Iris2 multi-orbit secure communications satellite constellation.
Everything depends on whether the consortium, which includes Europe’s leading satellite fleet operators and satellite builders, is willing to commit enough of its own capital, and keep overall system capex low enough, to meet the Commission’s requirements.
