Kratos: Our space business growth has been slowed by satellite builders’ problems with software-defined payloads

LA PLATA, Maryland — The expected revenue acceleration of Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc.’s space business in 2024 has been stalled by technical problems encountered by manufacturers of software-defined satellites, for which Kratos’s OpenSpace virtual ground station platform was designed.

The issues have delayed deliveries of multiple commercial GEO-orbit telecommunications satellites by Airbus Defence and Space and Thales Alenia Space of Europe, and forced customers including Intelsat, SES, Arabsat, Thaicom and others to delay launches . . .
