ITU says satellite fillings now processed in 2 months or less; Nigeria says LEO broadband is threat to GEO

PARIS — The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) said it has cut in half the amount of time it takes to process a new satellite network despite the increase in satellite filings.

But the ITU also sold satellite operators, and the governments that represent them at the ITU, that too many filings lack basic information that is clearly required and that this can help speed the application.
