Hughes Network Systems, now with a LEO product and service to sell, sees market enthusiasm for OneWeb

SINGAPORE — Broadband satellite service and hardware provider Hughes Network Systems, a Eutelsat OneWeb shareholder and ground-segment provider, said market momentum is building for OneWeb terminals now that the service is nearing global availability after delays in gateway licensing.

The early take-up of OneWeb service will be important to Eutelsat OneWeb’s ability to finance its second-generation constellation, considered necessary to compete with Starlink, Amazon’s future Project Kuiper and other potential global broadband satellite projects.
