Gogo’s purchase of Satcom Direct gives it global reach, a GEO offer alongside OneWeb and a resiliency argument vs Starlink

LA PLATA, Maryland — Business aviation air-to-ground in-flight connectivity provider Gogo Inc. said its purchase of Satcom Direct will give it a service offer that high-end customers, including the U.S. military, will prefer over SpaceX’s Starlink by offering GEO- and LEO capacity.

Gogo has made an advance purchase of capacity from Eutelsat OneWeb for the business aviation market to extend its business beyond the air-to-ground service in North America. Satcom Direct leases capacity on multiple GEO-orbit satellites . . .
