Globalstar: Work on new $1.5-billion Apple-financed satellite constellation has been under way for some time

BANGKOK — Mobile satellite services provider Globalstar Inc. said the $1.5-billion satellite constellation being 85% financed by Apple and disclosed on Nov. 1 — constellation size, radio frequency plan, service offering and launch date still undisclosed — has been under construction for some time and that Globalstar is weighing multiple options for how it will use its 15% share.

Globalstar Chief Executive Paul E. Jacobs declined to provide many fresh details about the new satellites in a Nov. 7 investor call. But he did leave a few breadcrumbs, notably confirming . . .
