Germany still has problems with proposed EU constellation; EU Council wants more NewSpace involvement

PARIS — European Union governments continue to have doubts about the European Commission’s proposed satellite network for secure connectivity despite being generally in favor of the idea.

Both the doubts and the support were on display June 10 as the EU Competitiveness Council discussed the project some six months before what the Commission hopes will be an end-year approval of it.

The European Commission has endorsed the project but is awaiting go-forward approvals from both the Council and the European Parliament . . .
