LA PLATA, Maryland — When Japanese radar Earth observation constellation startup Synspective raised $100 million just 17 months after its founding — and even more surprising, solely from Japan’s private sector — it was considered a one-off event.
But since then, the company has raised an additional $77.3 million in equity, bringing the total to 28.1 billion Japanese yen, plus $52.4 million (8.3 billion yen) in debt.
