PARIS — The upper house of the French parliament gave full endorsement to a European constellation of low-orbiting satellites for government and commercial use and said an investment of 6 billion euros should be viewed as “just the seed funding.”
The French Senat’s European Affairs and Economic Affairs committees appear to have adopted the idea that Europe needs to occupy low Earth orbit with a secured connectivity network before the available slots and broadcast frequencies are taken by others.
