TOULOUSE, France — The French Defense Ministry criticized a French accounting-court assessment of the value of a reusable rocket for Europe but endorsed the court’s assessment that Europe’s current launch ecosystem cannot survive without a big increase in government support.
Where that support will come from is one of the key questions raised by the French Cour des Comptes, whose role is similar to the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), even if its program and budget assessments are not as detailed.
