KOUROU, French Guiana — Eutelsat Chief Executive Eva Berneke said her company is going all-out to provide affordable satellite broadband to the European Union with the new 500-Gbps Konnect VHTS satellite and with the OneWeb low-orbit constellation and cannot understand the European Commission’s resistance to it.
Berneke said the geostationary-orbit Konnect VHTS, launched from Europe’s spaceport here Sept. 7, is a much better option for the Commission’s goal of ending “white spots” in Europe’s broadband coverage and bridging . . .
