BRUSSELS — A close look at the work packages and schedule for Europe’s Iris2 multi-orbit secure connectivity network clearly shows how little time the SpaceRise consortium managing it has to deploy it.

An in-service date of 2030 might seem far away, but there are multiple technologies that must be validated before construction hits full stride on the 290-satellite system. Subcontractors have yet to be selected.
