BRUSSELS — Europe’s satellite industry for years has offered sympathy to the builders of Europe’s Ariane rocket program for their obvious competitive disadvantages next to SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket.
Now European contractors, whose competitiveness has never been in doubt, find themselves in the same boat as they feel competitive pressure from SpaceX’s Starlink broadband constellation.
