LA PLATA, Maryland — The European Defence Fund (EDF), pursuing its investment in space situational awareness (SSA), has awarded a 100-million-euro ($109 million) contract to a 44-company consortium to demonstrate and qualify SSA sensors and command/control software.
The four-year contract, for which grant agreements are expected by the end of the year, assumes a total project cost of 157.7 million euros, with the consortium picking up difference. Consortium members are from 13 nations.
