PARIS — The European Commission’s Iris2 multi-orbit, secure connectivity constellation is on schedule, and the Commission has secured a satisfactory level of financial contribution from the industrial consortium bidding on the project, Commission Vice President Thierry Breton said.
Iris2 includes components in LEO, MEO and GEO orbit with a multitude of military, governmental and commercial services, an ambition far to great to fit into the Commission’s budget of 2.4 billion euros ($2.6 billion) through 2027.
