EU review of its 7-year, $15.5B space program concludes it needs to move much faster and make more room for startups

LA PLATA, Maryland — The European Commission’s mid-course review of its seven-year, 14.7-billion-euro ($15.5 billion) Space Program has concluded that it needs to streamline procurement rules to quicken reaction time, and find ways to make it easier for startups to take part.

The European Union’s 27 member governments are expected to approve the generally positive assessment of the Space Program on Nov. 29.
