PARIS — The European Parliament approved a draft report endorsing a multi-orbit secure connectivity satellite constellation but opposed raiding the budgets of already approved space budget lines to fund it.
The Parliament’s Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) Committee approved the draft, whose rapporteur is Christophe Grudler, on Oct 13.
It said the program’s funding should instead by drawn, “to the extent possible, from the unallocated margins under the [seven-year Commission budget] ceilings.”
