PARIS — European Union governments have tentatively approved spending 2.4 billion euros ($2.52 billion) between 2023 and 2027 on a satellite-based secure connectivity network that will only gradually develop into a global constellation of low-orbiting satellites.
The funding will be drawn from the following European Commission programs’ 2021-2027 budgets:
— 950 million euros from the Single Market, Innovation and Digital program
— 500 million euros from the Commission’s Security and Defense . . .
