PARIS — The European Commission issued its request for proposals to EU New Space companies to provide ideas on the construction and operation of a constellation of satellites in multiple orbits for broadband connectivity, quantum key distribution and a host of other possible missions.
Bidders have until Sept. 10 to submit their proposals. The two that rank highest in the Commission’s assessment will receive 1.4 million euros ($1.65 million) each. The contracts are expected to last six months.
