ESA: No word from NASA on Artemis changes, so we’re moving forward; European Launcher Challenge RFP goes out next week

LA PLATA, Maryland — European Space Agency (ESA) Director-General Josef Aschbacher expressed guarded confidence that the NASA-led Artemis lunar exploration program, to which ESA has committed sizable resources, will not face the upheaval that is now coursing through many US government agencies.

In a March 20 press briefing following the quarterly meeting of the 23-nation ESA's ruling council, Aschbacher acknowledged that ESA would not have a detailed discussion on the subject until a new NASA administrator is confirmed.
