PARIS — European government officials on Feb. 21 said Planet Labs, the poster child for a Silicon Valley NewSpace startup, now has a European passport with all the rights that go with it.
In a briefing at Planet Labs Germany GmbH in Berlin, officials from the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Commission and the German space agency, DLR, said Planet’s commitment to Europe has been sufficiently demonstrated to remove any concerns about consorting with the competition as Europe seeks greater space-industry autonomy.
