LA PLATA, Maryland — Europe’s Ariane 6 heavy-lift launcher remains on track for its inaugural flight in June-July following two recent tests to assess its ability to withstand non-standard launch events, the task force overseeing development said Dec. 19.
A Dec. 15 test of the vehicle’s launch sequence at Europe’s Guiana Space Center spaceport, on the northeast coast of South America, included filling the vehicle’s propellant tanks with liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen, removing the mobile gantry and a brief firing of the main-stage . . .
