PARIS — Two companies with reasons to hold a grudge against mobile satellite services provider Inmarsat — EchoStar Corp. and RigNet — are joining forces to use EchoStar’s large S-band satellite over Europe and Hughes Network Systems’ ground hardware to provide voice and data service to RigNet customers.
London-based Inmarsat rejected EchoStar’s proposed take-over bid in 2018 and more recently has accepted, pending shareholder approval on May 10 — a bid by private-equity and pension-fund investors.
