PARIS — Satellite Earth station manufacturer Comtech Telecommunications Corp.’s $40 million purchase of satellite router builder UHP Networks Inc. was driven by a belief in the high growth coming for satellite-5G backhaul and one or more non-geostationary-orbit broadband satellite constellations, Comtech said.
Growth is also coming from geostationary-orbit broadband systems. Comtech did not quantify it, but the company is in the middle of a $20 million contract to delver Ka- and V-band traveling wave tube amplifiers for EchoStar Corp.’s Hughes . . .
