CUNCY-LES-VARZY, France — In a transaction that could reset the commercial satellite-based Internet of Things (IoT), startup constellation operator Swarm Technologies Inc. will become a wholly owned subsidiary of SpaceX following the two companies’ agreement on the acquisition.
The transaction was made public on Aug. 6 through Swarm’s application to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for a transfer to SpaceX of Swarm’s satellite and Earth station licenses.
