PARIS — Startup commercial space station operator Axiom Space, in a decision that lends credibility to its business plan, contracted with Thales Alenia Space to start work on two Axiom-financed space station modules to launch in late 2024.
The contract, whose value was not disclosed, is an Authorization to Proceed (ATP), meaning Thales Alenia Space is paid to begin early work on the modules that, if not started now, would not permit a late-2024 launch.
