TUPPER LAKE, NY — Avio SpA will take charge of launch services for the Vega rocket, replacing Arianespace, starting in late 2025 at the earliest, the European Space Agency (ESA) has decided.
ESA’s ruling council, meeting July 5 in a special session, ended months of perhaps surprisingly difficult discussions, many of them relating to modifications of long-standing legal agreements with Arianespace, to arrive at the decision agreed to by ESA member states in November.
