LA PLATA, Maryland — AT&T said its direct-to-device (D2D) mobile satellite service leased from AST SpaceMobile to provide the same level of connectivity as AT&T’s terrestrial wireless network but emphasized that the satellite network will serve a relatively small number of customers.
